Three Dot, Two Bam!
Gary Shulman, MS. Ed.
March 17, 2024
Mahjong women all joyously gathered
In a smoke filled mid century kitchen
Back in 1950s Canarsie
All complaining and a bitchin’
We Brooklyn hungry children
Could hardly even wait
Until that never-ending Mahjong game
Did meet its ultimate final fate
For then we kids would pounce and attack
That scrumptious Blackout cake
And any and all sweet leftovers
Would’t you, for heaven’s sake!
If only once again to taste
That chocolate crumb filled treat
Our hearts would be so sated you see
But that is sadly an impossible feat
For those Queens of Brooklyn are all now gone
Mahjong tiles all packed neatly away
We hungry children all grown and wrinkled
Now must respectfully and lovingly say
Thank you for those innocent days
When moms did gleefully play
While sharing their pride, good food and joy
Bringing us warmth like the sun’s potent ray
We knew those Brooklyn Mahjong moms
Shared one common wish in life
They hoped that each and every child
Would be free from pain and strife
Please know dear Mahjong Brooklyn moms
You did the best you could
Life has no guarantees you see, nor do we think it should
You laid the framework and we grabbed the reign
We did the best in life we could do
Now rest in peace, three dot, two bam! MAHJONG!
We forever wish lovingly for you
If you want start to play mah jongg and want buy first set ,here is the choice
